The intervention logic

Theory of Change

The Swiss-African International Forum (FISA 2026) is based on the premise that the challenges to sustainable development in Africa stem not only from a lack of financial resources, but also from insufficient coordination among public, private, academic, and financial actors. By creating a structured space for dialogue, networking, and the collaborative development of solutions, the Forum aims to transform opportunities for cooperation into concrete partnerships, sustainable investments, and high-impact projects.

The FISA's theory of change posits that the simultaneous mobilization of governments, businesses, financial institutions, universities, research centers, and civil society will foster the development of projects that address national and regional priorities. This dynamic will increase investment, strengthen local capacities, facilitate technology transfer, promote innovation, and improve the competitiveness of African economies. In the medium term, these results will contribute to strengthening economic relations between Switzerland and Africa, while accelerating progress toward the Sustainable Development Goals. In the long term, the Forum aims to become a permanent platform for economic and scientific cooperation, generating lasting impacts on job creation, inclusive growth, and regional resilience.

Hypothesis of change

If public decision-makers, investors, businesses, academic institutions, technical and financial partners, and civil society organizations have a credible platform that facilitates strategic dialogue, the sharing of expertise, networking, and the development of joint projects, then they will be better able to create sustainable partnerships, mobilize investments, transfer knowledge, and develop innovative solutions to address the challenges of sustainable development.
